Privacy Policy
This notice explains how the Namibia Water Corporation Ltd (NamWater) handles personal information collected through this website, in line with the Constitution of Namibia (Article 13), the Electronic Transactions Act, 2019, and good practice under the Southern African data protection frameworks.
What we collect
- Messages you send through the contact form or interaction portal: your name, contact details, account number and what you tell us. Tip-offs can be anonymous.
- Details you give when you download bidding documents: name, company, email and phone, kept in the bid register.
- If you create an account to apply for vacancies: your profile, qualifications, experience, documents and applications.
- Course registrations, newsletter and bid alert subscriptions.
- Anonymous visitor statistics: pages visited and the type of device. We do not store your IP address for statistics.
Why we use it
Only to respond to you, to run procurement fairly and transparently, to recruit staff, to manage training and to improve the website. We do not sell personal information.
Who sees it
Only NamWater staff who need it for the purpose, and service providers who host the website for us under confidentiality obligations. We disclose information when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Messages are kept for up to five years after they are closed, job applications for up to three years after the vacancy closes, and the bid download register for up to seven years for audit purposes. After that the information is deleted automatically.
Security
The website uses encrypted connections, staff sign-in with two-factor authentication, role-based access and a tamper-evident audit trail. Documents you upload are stored privately and are not publicly accessible.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep the website working and secure. Analytics cookies are used only if you accept them in the cookie banner.
Your rights
You may ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or object to how we use it. Account holders can download their data or delete their account at any time from their account page. Anyone can send a privacy request; we respond within 30 days.
